Kaiju invasion in the Madrid metro: Godzilla and Kong bite the ticket

Like all public transportation systems, the Madrid metro has its good points and its bad points, including occasional incidents. But, until now, we have no evidence that it had suffered an invasion of giant monsters.

However, that’s how it is: those who visit the Nuevos Ministerios station starting today will discover that Godzilla and King Kong themselves have decided to take a stroll through the facilities. Only, since the tunnels are built with humans in mind, they are having some problems traveling through them in their entirety.

This is a street marketing action carried out by Warner Bros. to celebrate the premiere of Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire. Now that the film directed by Adam Wingard hits theaters, nothing better than turning to the two superstars of monster movies.

At the entrance to the station, travelers can see a giant Kong fist (400 kg in weight) breaking through the ceiling. Fortunately, it’s not there to crush anyone, but rather to welcome you on your way down.

But the experience doesn’t end there. As passengers move towards the ticket area, they are greeted by another equally shocking surprise: Godzilla’s spine emerging from the ground towards the surface. At the moment we have no evidence that the bug is going to use its radioactive ray, but anyone knows…

Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire marks a new chapter in the ‘monsterverse’ franchise. In addition to our favorite saurian and the quintessential Hollywood gorilla, the film features Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Kaylee Hottle and newcomer Dan Stevens.
